BREWSTER - Phyllis Mae(Hood) Silva, 89, of Brewster, and formerly of Wellfleet, died peacefully at home on Aug. 26, 2016. She was the wife of the late Charles R. Silva Jr., a Wellfleet native, Army veteran, and former Wellfleet police chief.Phyllis graduated from the Wellfleet Consolidated School, was captain of her basketball team, and after graduation moved to Boston's Back Bay to work as a secretary at John Hancock.
